An investigation has been launched after a montage video of UnitedStates special forces in Afghanistan appears to show a US soldier firing a shotgun into the cab of a vehicle which people are claiming was driven by a civilian. The video, which played to the tune of ‘Humble,’ by Kendrick Lamar, was posted anonymously to YouTube and featured other combat footage said to have been recently taken in Afghanistan while conducting operations against the IslamicState. The context of the video is unknown and it is unclear what lead to the shooting. • US Central Command commander Gen. Joseph Votel said in a statement "I have reviewed the video and I am disappointed and also concerned that the American people, our Coalition partners, the Afghan government, and the Afghan people will believe that American service members are callous and indifferent to the horrors of war or the suffering of innocent people trapped in conflict," adding that "I can assure you that this video does not represent the professionalism or humanity of the men and women of U.S. Central Command. We reject the unprofessional and callous message this video conveys." Secretary of Defense James Mattis has been briefed on the video, but has not made a statement. @atlas.news AtlasNewsUpdateUnitedStates
