Philadelphia 76ers, Basketball, and Colin Kaepernick: James Harden Pays Meek Mill A Visit In Jail, Says He's In High Spirits @balleralert JamesHarden Pays MeekMill A Visit In Jail, Says He's In High Spirits - blogged by: @ashleytearra ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Even behind bars, rapper Meek Mill is still receiving loads of support from fans, family, and even close friends. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On Tuesday, December 26th, Houston Rockets player James Harden paid a visit to Mill at the State Correctional Institution, located in Chester, PA-and, from what he says, the Philly MC is actually holding up just fine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Got a chance to see my bro meekmill today. His spirit is high and hopefully, we can get him out by February,” Harden wrote in his recent Instagram story. He then went on to relay a message that Mill wanted to tell his supporters, regarding some possible music projects on the way. “Told me to tell y’all when he gets out he got some [heat] for y’all.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In Mill’s honor, TMZ reported that sources close to Harden told TMZ Sports that the NBA superstar had also gotten some ‘Free Meek’ sneakers custom made and would be wearing them on the basketball court when the Rockets play the Celtics, this Thursday. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Though, as of now, it is unclear as to when and if Mill will be coming home anytime soon, it’s great to know that many are still standing with him during this difficult time. Joel Embiid and Michael Rubin, 76ers owner, visited Mill back in November. Colin Kaepernick also spoke with the rapper and said that he was very humbled by everyone’s overwhelming amount of support. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, this isn’t Mill’s first big run-in with the law. The 30-year-old has had a troublesome past, but we’re hoping that things will get back on track for the better… at least for his sake. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But, when the judge prohibited Meek from leaving the city, Rubin grew concerned about the case, Bleacher Report states. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “He was at too many games because he wasn’t allowed to leave the city,” Rubin said. “It didn’t make any sense to me. His job is to perform, and the judge wasn’t letting him perform. He was giving up millions of dollars.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to Bleacher Report, as he kept an eye on the case, he realized that everything that he heard about the judge had been true. From the harsh sentence for violating probation, which stems from decade-old drugs and gun charges to the outlandish demands of changes in Meek’s music career, “Everything I’d heard about this judge was accurate,” Rubin, who attended the hearing, said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Had I not seen it in person, I probably would not have gotten to this point of feeling like I have to stand up for him because he’s being treated so unfairly, and he can’t do this on his own,” Rubin continued. “Meek is a diehard Sixers fan-they generally play his music for the intro.
