That crow is more prepared than some of my students.

You’ve all just like, completely skipped over the possibility that this crow has seen people using pens in this room, found one, and is trying to return it. There’s been videos of crows picking up sweet wrappers and stuff and placing them in bins after seeing humans put their litter in bins. I really do believe that this crow is trying to return the pen and that is ADORABLE AS HELL. 

THEY ARE SO SMART I LOVE THEM

Crows are thought to be self aware by some scientists. Its perfectly possible the crow wants to return the pen to humans. Knowing it belongs to humans.

Another cool crow deal: Once, when trying to assess if crows could reason and use tools, scientists had two crows who didn’t know each other each take a wire from a table (one was hooked, one was straight) and try to grab meat from a bottle with it. The crows could see each other, though they had separate bottles. Only the straight wire worked for this, so they hypothesized that if crows could reason, the second trial would have the two crows fighting over the straight wire. The second trial started and, to the surprise of the scientists, the two crows both went for the bent wire, one held it down and the other unbent it. They both got meat out of their bottles. They came to a peaceful solution without verbal communication. Crows are probably smarter than we are.

We do do these things a lot and it’s so nice to hear them in a positive light because so often I feel like we’re hated on. Never in my life have I had someone from another country call us friendly. They always say we’re loud and obnoxious (not that that’s not true, it often can be). “Bitch the pot” - Pour the tea (HOW RELEVANT IS THIS!?)
“Bang up the elephant” - Absolutely perfect; super stylish
“Well, that’s shot the bale” - Something that has missed the mark entirely
“Church-bell” - A woman prone to gossip
“Chuckaboo” - A dear friend, a bosom chum
“Beer and skittles” - A great time (see also: Irish Gaelic “craic”)
“Butter on bacon” - Something overdone or too extravagant
“Cupid’s kettle drums” - Breasts, particularly large ones
“Gigglemug” - A cheerful smiling face


All of these??? Make me smile??? They’re so weird and wonderful I love them??? Especially bitch the pot because that’s something I could totally hear myself saying…that and chuckaboo


I worked in a Victorian tea house in my youth and I’m telling you, you haven’t lived till you hear a the 98 year old lady (this was some 15 years ago) utter the words “bitch the pot” because it was what they used to say when the tea house first opened and it just sort of stuck through all the generations.

i can hear these in both British accents and southern accents.

Lets talk about Paris……beyond the uninspired color choice. Let’s ignore that paris and DC (and, ugh, fineeee nyxl) have the same-ish colors. There’s some big things wrong here, at least in my opinion:1. On doomfist’s skin, Paris attempts a unique choice that only nyxl, houston, and seoul have done. They try to push the primary color. Look at the Houston doomfist skin vs the London and Glads one. While all technically have three colors, Houston looks overwhelmingly more like it’s primary black color, and then green, and then if you really look, you can see the silver tertiary color. Paris attempts this- but does one weird thing: they introduce a fourth color. Where the inside of his arm should be red, they put a second, darker blue. :/ hmmm2. In contrast to that, on Widow, they seem to give up on the idea of a more dominant blue color and don’t follow the nyxl/houston/seoul model of more primary color and less secondary. Here, they do what all the other teams do and put primary on body, secondary on legs, and accent on armor bits and leggy criss-cross things. Exceeeeept…. they dont have their gold accents non the hips! Why, if they’re not going to do what nyxl/houston/seoul do and push the primary? All it servers to do is make the red/blue size difference even more even! Also- their gold on her is… bronze looking. Much much darker than the gold on doomfist or on the other team. Weird. 3. The logo. Hoo boy that logo. Why do they have that terrible contrast? Why is the largest, brightest piece of it the yellow if they’re going a) use gold and b) hide the gold on their skins anyway?
