Cheetos, Community, and Life: FUCK TRUMP Rp @JustinoMora1: "Mood all day today and every day since the Cheeto's election! 👊🏾💯 . The haters will say we need to "have respect for the man in the White House" - well, if I didn't have any respect for Trump years ago, there's no way in hell I'm going to have respect for him now. I'm an undocumented-DACA recipient from Mexico and I say to the haters and racists: I have no respect for you or your Cheeto! So I'll tag @icegov for you so you don't waste your time. . Let's not forget how Trump started his campaign for the presidency: in 2015, he held a press conference to attack undocumented immigrants and label Mexicans as "drug dealers, criminals, and rapists". Trump knows no boundaries when it comes to attacking oppressed minorities including the LGBTQ community, women, Muslims, the disabled, and our Black brothers and sisters. Trump deserves absolutely no respect from any decent person! No white supremacist, narcissist, sexist, criminal, and demagogue deserves my respect. Trump has used the powers of the White House to inflict immeasurable harm to my community, women, people of color, and other marginalized communities. Trump will never have my respect and on this PresidentsDay, I wish him the worst day of his life! NotMyPresident HereToStay cleanDreamAct SaveTPS DreamAct DreamActNow UndocumentedAndUnafraid

Friday, Love, and Memes: 'Black Panther' Breaks Barriers and Records In lts Opening Weekend @balleralert 'Black Panther' Breaks Barriers and Records In Its Opening Weekend - Blogged by: @RaquelHarrisTV ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ RyanCoogler’s 'Black Panther' is setting a tone for Marvel films, creating conversations while breaking several barriers at the same damn time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In just the first three-to-four-days of its release, the film earned a whopping $235 million, making it the fifth highest-earning of any film and the highest debut ever for a February film. And let’s get into 31-year-old Oakland native Coogler, who made history for now having the highest-grossing film ever by a black director. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BlackPanther now holds the biggest solo superhero launch of all-time! It also takes the crown for the biggest non-sequel opening weekend, the biggest Friday through Sunday opening weekend for a long holiday debut, the biggest long holiday opening weekend and the biggest pre-summer opening weekend (there’s actually more). The film has already gotten esteemed praise from critics on Rotten Tomatoes who gave the film a 97 percent. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We don’t really have to say much, the movie is a one-of-kind BlackMagic masterpiece. We fell in love with our righteous all-Black cast which starred ChadwickBoseman, LupitaNyongo, MichaelBJordan, AngelaBassett, DanaiGurira, DanielKaluuya, ForestWhitaker, SterlingKBrown, FlorenceKaumba, WinstonDuke and now beloved breakout star LetitiaWright. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 'Black Panther' changed the Marvel superhero game and as you can see by the numbers and audience involvement, we’re loving every minute of it. It’s innovating, refreshing, revolutionary, and even groundbreaking. This is a milestone for the culture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The film—based on Marvel Comics’ fictional character of the same name, debuted on February 16th, breaking worldwide box office records and setting the table for national dialogue. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One day before its release, Coogler sat down with retired NBA player KareemAbdulJabbar to share his views on why ‘Black Panther’ is such a big deal and why it could be beneficial for all races. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “The concept of an African story, with actors of African descent at the forefront—combined with the scale of modern franchise filmmaking, is something that hasn’t really been seen before,” Coogler told Abdul-Jabbar. “You feel like you’re getting the opportunity of seeing something fresh, being a part of something new—which I think all audiences want to experience, regardless of whether they are African descent or not.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Later in the Hollywood Reporter piece, Coogler detailed what he strives for viewers to gain from watching ‘Black Panther’. “I hope they take out of it a sense of enjoyment [but also] something that is not disposable,” he ......to read the rest log on to BallerAlert.com (clickable link on profile)

Beautiful, Children, and Memes: My Black Will Forever Be Beautiful @balleralert My Black Will Forever Be Beautiful - blogged by @peachkyss ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We don’t need anyone to tell us how beautiful, talented, sophisticated, and talented we are. Many of us have known how unique we are from the beginning. But to see everyone come together for something as positive as 'Black Panther' is simply amazing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not only are we dressing for the cause but it is becoming an everyday statement with rocking our natural textures, African prints, and just appreciating our Melanin more. Many may say that we are overdoing it but there is no such thing. We just haven’t been doing it enough. Understand that we are simply appreciating our culture for what it is and not giving a damn about what any has to say about it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am unsure why people are surprised at how black people come together. We can come together for a great cause and support our own. Understand that this is only the beginning for our culture. No need to bring each other down. We are here to uplift and bring each other together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Remember, our black will forever be beautiful. Don’t allow anyone to tell you different. Continue to educate our children every moment we get, so that it doesn’t seem like a fad to others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This may be new to some, but baby our melanin been popping!
