Barbie, Doctor, and Facebook: Freshman At University of Hartford Arrested For Harassing Roommate And Smearing Bodily Fluids On Her Belongings @balleralert Freshman At University of Hartford Arrested For Harassing Roommate And Smearing Bodily Fluids On Her Belongings - blogged by @baetoven_ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to the MiamiHerald, University of Hartford student Brianna Brochu was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace after tampering with her roommate's belongings. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Chennel Rowe — aka Jazzy — says she never got along with Brochu. After Rowe got a new dorm assignment and notified her roommate, Brochu posted a cryptic message online that read: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Finally did it ya girl got rid of her roommate! After 1 1-2 months of spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons on her backpack, putting her toothbrush where the sun doesn’t shine and so much more I can finally say goodbye to Jamaican Barbie.” The post has since been deleted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Rowe chose to tell her story on Facebook Live, alleging that Brochu even posted pictures of her backpack with blood spots on it. She also said she previously went to the doctor for severe throat pain, but they didn't know the cause of it. Rowe believes Brochu's actions caused her sickness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Rowe's story fueled beliefs that the attack was racially motivated, prompting Twitter users to demand justice with the hashtag JusticeForJazzy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ University of Hartford President Greg Woodward also denounced Brochu's actions in a statement saying: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "The incident has brought about accusations of racism, and I want you to know that I hear and share your anger and frustration. Acts of racism, bias, bullying, or other abusive behaviors will not be tolerated on this campus." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Brochu, who admitted to licking Rowe's silverware and wiping used tampons on her backpack, is no longer a student of the university and has been released on bond.

Kelley visited Dupree's family on Monday in regards to the incident. After reading the entries, authorities were led to McCurley. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "They had detailed plans of what they wanted to do and how they wanted to carry it out," Reynolds said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It all came together once officials did a search of homes in which they found firearms, some type of powdered substance and a flammable device. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Authorities are still questioning what the motive was behind their plans but she feels mental health may be the issue. Blade, Drunk, and Memes: Store Clerk Knocks Out Robber Who Said "We Can Do This The Easy Way or The Hard Way" @balleralert Store Clerk Knocks Out Robber Who Said “We Can Do This The Easy Way or The Hard Way” – blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On Monday, a convenience store clerk took matters into his own hands after a would-be robber tried to overthrow his store. The suspect, who has been identified as 52-year-old AndreYoung, entered the Speedway on Northland Boulevard and tried to jump over the counter with a blade. However, the store clerk fought back, seizing the blade and delivering a devastating right hook to knock Young out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The clerk then called 911 to explain the situation, which was also captured by a security camera inside of the Speedway. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “He’s still in here,” the clerk told officials. “I had to knock him out. You need to get a trooper here now, because he’s in here, he’s in here all f*cked up.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “The allegations are that the defendant went into a Speedway gas station, brandished a box cutter, and stated, ‘We can do this the easy way, or the hard way,’” Dave Wood of the Hamilton County prosecutor’s office said. “The cashier luckily was able to defend himself and incapacitate the defendant until police showed up.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Later, in an interview with police, Young said his actions were misconstrued. He claimed he was holding the knife to cut something off his shirt, to which officials responded by saying it isn’t smart to try to jump a counter with a blade, if you aren’t planning to rob someone. “Man, I was drunk,” Young replied. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The next day, Young stood before a judge on crutches with a swollen black eye. The judge set a $175,000 bond on two counts of aggravated robbery and assault. Oddly enough, officials say Young was convicted of using a bat to rob the same gas station back in 2005.

7-Eleven, Crime, and Krispy Kreme: Man Gets $37,500 After Cops Mistake Krispy Kreme Crumbs For Meth @balleralert Man Gets $37,500 After Cops Mistake Krispy Kreme Crumbs For Meth - blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Back in December of 2015, 64-year-old DanielRushing was arrested on drug charges after he was stopped for failing to come to a full stop before pulling out of a 7-Eleven. According to reports, officials saw small flakes of glaze on his floor of his car and assumed it was crystal methamphetamine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although the man tried to tell officials that the flakes were actually pieces of Krispy Kreme donuts from earlier in the day, after two roadside drug tests came back positive for an illegal substance, Rushing was booked on possession charges. He spent 10 hours behind bars before posting bond. A few weeks later, a crime lab refuted the original tests and the drug charges against Rushing were dropped. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, the aftermath of the arrest still haunted him, as he was unable to find a job because of his record. As a result, Rushing sued the city of Orlando for the false results. In turn, Rushing received a $37,500 settlement for the arrest and revealed that he was pleased with the outcome. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It remains unclear why the glaze tested positive for an illegal substance in two separate tests.
