Bless Up, Blessed, and Butt: Last year I went backpacking through the republic of Georgia in Eastern Europe. On a long hike into the mountains, this dog decided to join me. We hiked together for about seven miles before he wandered off. Here he is keeping guard as I set my camera up for a landscape shot. On this blessed day I ask God to ease your burden, whatever that burden might be. If you are struggling I ask God to make things easy for you. If you are depressed I ask God to light your way. If you are hungry I ask God to feed you and to move those around you to feed you - it is the responsibility of those living in comfort to give to those who are not. I hate asking for favors but do me one favor today. Identify a family member from whom time or distance or an argument of some type or hardship long ago has caused separation. Reach out to them and let them know you love them. Be the better person and cure severed familial bonds with love. Aight? You can do it. My lil homegirl, her mom is the most wretched human on earth ๐Ÿ˜‚. Every day she say something new to annoy her daughter. A week ago she said "your butt is flat" out of nowhere (and her butt ain't een flat lol!) And that girl still take care of her mama day in and day out. It's not easy but it's not really a test if it's easy, ya get me! Broomstick, Friday, and Gym: Open Up Your Rounded Shoulders @dr.jacob.harden MY DAILY SHOULDER MOBILITY DRILL The shoulder dislocate is a drill I do on the daily. Most of my patients can attest to me grabbing the PVC and doing a few of these while we run through exercises.๐Ÿ˜… . It takes the shoulder joint through a full circumduction motion and will help you build and maintain excellent shoulder mobility, making it one of my โ˜ top recommendations for anyone sitting at a desk all day as it opens up the thoracic spine and pecs, helping get you out of that kyphotic, rounded shoulders posture. And the best part is, you can do it right at ๐Ÿ  home or in the gym with a broomstick, PVC pipe, or band. . I like to warm up the tissues by doing 15 reps of ๐Ÿ™‹ one arm up and over at a time and then repeat in the other direction. Then go into the full dislocate where you move ๐Ÿ™† both arms back and forth. . If you have really tight shoulders, you'll need to start out at the widest grip length or use the band. As your shoulders open up, you can start a bring the hands in. Make sure to keep the ribs โคต down so that you create motion only at the shoulder and don't hyperextend the lumbar spine. . Fast Food, Food, and Life: @ANNETHENURSE It all started quite simple. Back in 2013- I quit fast food & soda. I started losing weight but my diet still wasn't good. In April 2014 I committed to working out just 25 minutes a day. I got one of those fit watches and realized my intense workouts only burned maybe 300 calories. I started looking more closely at my food intake. I cut out more and more processed foods, especially SUGAR. I increased my PROTEIN intake and consumed more produce. Then I slowly increased my physical activity, adding on hiking and mountain biking regularly. I lost 90+ lbs in a year and then I started weight lifting to shape my body. I continue to fine tune my diet and workouts. Being open to learning more and constantly improving.and learnt all about my addiction to food. This helped me turn my life around, deal with stress in different ways and persuaded me to learn more about nutrition and health. I have lost 7st 9lbs in 18 months. I have improved my health, my happiness and all aspects of my life. It IS possible.Never counted calories or macros but instead focused on micronutrients and satiation. I say I follow a more PALEO- inspired diet, intuitive eating, paired with intermittent fasting. I enjoy one cheat meal per week.I lift weights. Free weights, as heavy as I can with proper form. Also try to enjoy outdoor activities. Drink tons or water & try to improve sleep hygiene. Most importantly I try to stay committed to a healthy LIFESTYLE and positive MINDSET.
