 receive a bunch of calls from people looking
 for jobs. Working only part time, I'm not usu-
 ally there when they call, so they have to leave
 a message and I take their info to pass on to
 my boss. Sometimes it can be weeks before
 my boss calls any of these applicants back, if
 at all. How the callers respond to not getting
 a callback varies. Most don't do anything, but
 some call again. If the person sounds young,
 they may leave another message clarifying
 their qualifications and reaffirming thein
 interest. If the person is old, and I can always
 hear it in their voice, they respond by getting
 mad, threatening to cancel their newspaper
 subscription, and occasionally swearing. The
 older generation is used to getting a callback,
 and an immediate one, so they throw a
 tantrum when they don't get what they want.

 about race or gender or orientation or class,
 she talked about being left-handed.
 A left-handed person walks into most
 classrooms and immediately is made aware
 of their left-handedness - they have to sit in a

 of where to sit. If there are not enough
 left-handed seats, they will have to sit in a
 right-handed seat and be continuously aware

 Meanwhile, right-handed people have
 much more choice about where to sit, and
 almost never have to think about their
 right-handedness.

No you don’t understand tho my dad literally used to do this. Before 9/11, when airport security was way more lax, my dad’s friend ran an airport scam ring with like 30 of his friends.  They would literally do this - waltz on in to the airport, find a gate that looked overbooked, and buy a ticket. Because of the slower computer systems, they could get away with buying tickets seconds before a plane was announced to be overbooked, then offer to give up their seats for the cash. 
They also all used to fly under my dad’s friend’s name and racked up like millions of frequent flyer miles. They’re pretty sure that at one point, there were five different guys flying under the same name in the air at the exact same time and the airlines just contacted the guy saying “oh there’s been a glitch.”

 We used to have a DM but he got tired of DMing so we
 tried out this ad one of us found on a flyer and met her
 at the library. At first we played at one guy's dorm but
 she didn't like that because it was messy and we usually
 wouldn't bother showering sometimes or dressing wel
 because we didn't care but now we play at her place and
 she says we have to smell good and be well dressed
 before she lets us inside. It's a bit annoying sometimes
 but she calls us handsome when we do and I don't hear
 that very often

 Because it's not just that. I like her as a DM but
 sometimes she'll do really embarrassing things like
 hold a kareoke contest in game and then play songs
 from Grease and make us all sing

 I haven't asked her. One guy tried to once but we're not
 supposed to talk about non game related stuff whern
 we're playing and she jokingly threatened to take away
 one of his stickers but she's never done that before so
 we knew she was actually being serious.
 At the start she always cooked something but then she
 offered an extra sticker if we'd do it and gave us some
 printed laminated recipe sheets so we take it in turns to
 bring food now.

 tried out this ad one of us found on a flyer and met her
 at the library. At first we played at one guy's dorm but
 she didn't like that because it was messy and we usually
 wouldn't bother showering sometimes or dressing wel

 she says we have to smell good and be well dressed
 before she lets us inside. It's a bit annoying sometimes
 but she calls us handsome when we do and I don't hear

 hold a kareoke contest in game and then play songs
 from Grease and make us all sing

Here’s another fun story: My boss decided to slap my work phone number on all the ads we post looking for newspaper carriers. So I receive a bunch of calls from people looking for jobs. Working only part time, I’m not usually there when they call, so they have to leave a message and I take their info to pass on to my boss. Sometimes it can be weeks before my boss calls any of these applicants back, if at all. How the callers respond to not getting a callback varies. Most don’t do anything, but some call again. If the person sounds young, they may leave another message clarifying their qualifications and reaffirming their interest. If the person is old, and I can always hear it in their voice, they respond by getting mad, threatening to cancel their newspaper subscription, and occasionally swearing. The older generation is used to getting a callback, and an immediate one, so they throw a tantrum when they don’t get what they want.
And everyone calls Millennials entitled.

Mind. Blown.


This is great info, but the way the headline is phrased made it sound like they got the job of being a grandfather by walking right up and just asking
