At school our measure of success was grades, in life I would say it is happiness. So how can you be the best possible student of life so that it builds on your happiness levels? Here’s what has worked for me so far. (Yes, your boy millmentor will share his secrets) - 7 ways how being a “student” of life improves your happiness👇 - ✔️Be open minded. An open, positive mindset improves your overall happiness. ✔️Learn something new everyday. Cherish all the different aspects of life that exist. Fucking, Life, and Memes: LIFE IS GOOD BECAUSE I FUCKING MADEAT HAT WAY If you could just pick one or two (or a few more) habits to create in the next few months, habits that will have the most impact on your life, what would they be? 🤔 - Ready for the good life? - ✔️ Develop positive thinking. I put this first because I think it’s the keystone habit that will help you form the other important habits. Sure, positive thinking by itself won’t lead to success, but it certainly goes a long way to motivate you to do the other things required. ✔️Exercise. -It makes you feel better about yourself, and more confident. That leads to better success with other positive changes. -It relieves stress and gives you time to think, this leads to better mental well-being in your life overall. -It helps with creativity. ✔️Single-tasking. The opposite of multi-tasking, you’ve heard me harp on about this one as well. Why is it life-changing? A couple powerful reasons: -You’ll be more effective with your tasks and get more done. -You’ll be less stressed overall and (in my experience) happier throughout your day. ✔️Kindness. Yes, kindness is a habit. And it can be cultivated. Focus on it every day for a month and you’ll see profound changes in your life. You’ll feel better about yourself as a person. The year 2018 is here, and if you’re a goal-setter, you’ve probably already set your New Year’s resolutions (or have at least thought about them.) - Here are a few steps toward achieving our goals for 2018!: ✔️Get clear on what you want. The first step in achieving our New Year’s goals is to become crystal clear on precisely what we want. Close your eyes for a moment, and visualize the life you desire: Who and what are in this image? How do you look in this new picture? More important, how do you feel when you see this life in front of you? What do you ultimately want to feel? With your eyes closed, experience that feeling. ✔️Love yourself! Reaching our goals doesn’t happen by beating ourselves up, or judging and criticizing ourselves. Transformation comes from the love, compassion, kindness and patience we offer ourselves. Just like a child doesn’t thrive or learn from hostility, neither do we. We learn and grow from patience and support. So, be kind and gentle with yourself as you progress toward your goals. When you slip up, tell yourself, “I’ll do better tomorrow.” We don’t have to be perfect to start loving ourselves; we deserve love just as we are now. ✔️Self-Awareness. If we are unaware of our thoughts, feelings, belief systems, likes, dislikes and fears, then we are missing a key element to initiating change in our lives. When we spend time noticing the internal dialogue we’re having with ourselves, we can learn critical behaviors that are preventing and sabotaging our growth and success. ✔️Gratitude. Gratitude is the gateway to peace and happiness. It is the starting point to creating change. A grateful heart feels love and joy, which draws more love and joy into our lives. A simple gratitude practice of writing 5 to 10 things daily that you’re grateful for can begin to shift your mindset and actually make you feel better too. ✔️Set realistic and achievable goals, and take actionable steps. In setting goals and intentions, dream BIG, but realistically.
