The first training of Zuko we see, Iroh shoots a fireball right into Zuko’s face - while Zuko just stands there unflinching. It’s the very first episode, and Zuko & Iroh are the obvious villains, and it just seems like some macho bs they do.  And then comes the duel with Zhao, and Zuko is down, but when he sees that flaming fist to his face, something lets loose inside him that helps him turn the fight around…But it’s not until we learn Zuko’s backstory that all this gets a whole new meaning. 
Why would Zuko still be on basics if not because he suffered a huge setback after his agni kai? Imagine how much hard work, patience it was to build Zuko back up again, so he would not freeze in blind panic (or curl up in a ball) when fire gets close to his face. I think Iroh practiced this with him all the time until he could stand there unflinching (knowing that Iroh is in full control of his bending and trusting that his uncle would never hurt him). And when it came to the duel with Zhao, Zuko could react in a RL situation instead of freezing up, and turn all the negative feelings (rage, anger, pain, whatever) into fuel to win the fight against a bender who is much more skilled than he is. 
And Iroh obviously drilled him with control and restraint, because no matter how much he lets his rage loose, he has enough control not to hurt Zhao and enough self-restraint not to burn him at the end. I definitely think it was a deliberate choice on Iroh’s part to hold back on teaching offensive forms to Zuko beyond the basics (knowing that combining those with his unprocessed anger could result in him being out of control and hurt people). Instead, it seems he concentrated on teaching him defensive forms, fire breath, heat control, and so on…


What the FUCK iroh was the real mvp of this whole show my god

Indeed. It goes over many people’s head, but he made a huge difference. It was mostly assists and defensive plays though, not the flashy stuff.

This is great stuff for situations where you’re dealing primarily with cops - just please keep in mind that one size does not necessarily fit all situations. 
We’ve found locally, for instance, that nazis here like to use knives. A lot of knife injuries come from attempting to fend off an attack, and thus result in slashing injuries to the arms. Fortunately there are very light, flexible, and relatively inexpensive products originally intended for butchers to use that are great for this and will cover your whole arm or forearm.
Always research this stuff ahead of time and look at what other people in similar situations are doing and share the information you find. And remember that you don’t need to reinvent the wheel to protect yourself. And always mask up.

Always be vague. Say I think they’re in today or not until later. If they press say it’s company policy not to give out the schedule. Most companies do have this and even if they don’t how would a stranger know. Don’t give out specifics, they can get people injured or even killed.
At my last job someone came up and asked when “Sarah” was working next. I didn’t tell him and then texted her a description, turns out he was an abusive ex who had been stalking her. Don’t do this shit please.

Do NOT say anything along the lines of “they’re not in today” or “not until later” because you are confirming that this is somewhere the person in question can be found. NEVER confirm anything!


My old boss told us a story of how, years before when she was a fairly new manager (I’m talking decades, she’s 64 right now), there was a man who came in and asked for an employee by name and said he was her uncle. She told him the employee’s shift started in a coule hours. He waited the entire time for her, and when she came in, he assaulted her and bashed her face into the counter. My boss saw everything. She can’t recall what he said, but he kept screaming until someone threatened to call the police.
She told me that story after a man came in and asked for when an employee, who recently quit, would be coming in. I told him she doesn’t work here anymore and he said to me “Okay, well I’m her dad so if you see her tell her I’ll be across the street at the gas station.” He left and my boss IMMEDIATELY came out and scolded me for it, then told me that story.
She gave me some advice on what to say or do in that situation:
Don’t just deny knowing anything, deny the person asking. Example, “When is ____ coming in?” “You can’t know that information.” or “Can you tell me when ____’s shift is?” “Schedules are only for employees.” Additionally, saying “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” can usually work, it may piss them off but it can work.
 Continue on with the customer service. “I can’t help you with that, do you need help (with clothes, finding a product, ordering)?” or “Can I take your order?/Can I help you find (a product)?”
If they persist, insist they leave the store. “If you’re not going to order, please leave the building.” or “I can’t help you, have a nice day.” and, if you can, leave. If you can’t leave, call for or help the next customer.
If they still persist (by now they may be aggressive), threaten to call the police on the basis of them becoming aggressive and refusing to leave the premises. Some people will leave at that point, others stay. When the police get there, explain the situation but still do NOT confirm the existence of the employee they’re looking for to the police until they have been escorted out of the area.

Regardless of if the customer know the employee’s name, description, or daily (not hourly) schedule, even if they look like the same race and claim to be family, you NEVER confirm the employee’s existence. 
The only exceptions are if the employee tells you themself they’re expecting someone to come in for them (ASK FOR A DESCRIPTION OF THE PERSON), and if you personally know who they are in relation to the employee. When anyone I know has to come in because I asked them to come in, I describe what they look like and what they usually wear. I go into deep descriptions, even including how they walk.
You could literally save a life, guys. Don’t blindly trust your gut either and think “But they LOOK innocent” or “But they said ______” because that can result in someone getting severely hurt, or killed.

If youre in the US it is against federal law to give out anyones personal information (this includes numbers, names, and schedules) without writen and signed permission.

AC-409 Mk III Valkyrie Federation Attack Fighter by Auctor-Lucan 


These are the space fighters the Lone-Wolves Squadron use in Star Trek: Theurgy. While they were inspired by the old Gryphon-class fighters originally designed by KadenDark (http://galen82.deviantart.com/), the 3D model was a commissioning done by Pinarci on DeviantArt (http://pinarci.deviantart.com/) via his Fiverr account (https://www.fiverr.com/mehmetpinarci). The model and its concept is owned by me, but this project could not have turned out the way it did without Pinarci. Original idea, edits, texts and add-ons to the 3D render of the ships were made by yours truly.Projects like these are a process, and this proved to be a long one with a lot of revisions, but in the end, Pinarci exceeded all expectations and then some. While 3D artists in general might provide excellent overall work, he excel in this specific field. He is *the* 3D shipbuilder out there, and if anyone has need to make spaceships for games or animations, look no further.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 
TACTICAL CONN  THE VALKYRIE PROGRAM
The formation of the Starfleet Aerospace Command is heavily influenced by the successful deployment of Peregrine-class fighters aboard the starships serving as carriers in the fleet, yet the USS Theurgy does not hold a squadron of Peregrine-class fighter aboard, but the more developed Valkyrie-class. Namely, the prototype Mk III version, a superior fighter that make use of recent advances in technology. The year 2375 - after the conclusion of the Dominion War - the AC-409 Mk I Valkyries were deployed. These fighters were assigned to the USS Typhon [TNG game: Star Trek: Invasion]. They were initially designed as a carrier-based fleet engagement craft. Initially, the design proved successful, with a high survivability rate matching the heavy fire power available to bring down larger ships. In learning that a full squadron of Valkyries would still require a lot of support from for engagements of a Dominion-War level threat, Starfleet deemed that the attack fighter needed an upgrade. By 2381, these fighters are still being deployed in fairly limited numbers - shuffled around the fleet. Another development at the time was that a group of influential admirals in the fleet demanded to form a new - evaluational - department that hand-picked the Conn officers with the most tactical training. It was the only way, they reckoned, to ensure that the fleet used the right kind of pilots for these fighters. The original score of 400 personnel -  the fleets new Tactical Conn officers - served as the foundation for a new and more organised department for fighter pilots. They accepted only the highest scoring Conn or fight-trained Security or Tactical Cadets, and then dealt them another year of training in the fields they lacked from their Academy training. White became the chosen colour for the department, and the admirals that rode this project into history became the core of the Aerospace Command.Both the Mk I and II Valkyries used Rear Intercept Officers (RIOs). The efficiency in which the attack fighters were operated were doubled by allowing the pilots to focus solely on the manoeuvres and weapons employment of the craft during a fight, allowing the RIO to handle comm traffic, emergency repairs and tactic simulations. Among the improvements for the Mk II Valkyrie were a new ablative armour compound, improved power plant, and the employment of a hardpoint system beneath the wings. With the Mk II, the Valkyrie truly stepped into a class of her own. At the success of the Mk II and the fleet-wide deployment of the Valkyries in the fleet, Starfleet Command began looking into the Valkyrie with more interest. Initially, they had considered Tactical Conn another spear in Starfleet’s arsenal. So when the project was given new funding, RD went back to the drawing board to see what could be improved on an already formidable weapon.The first step was to increase the command, control and reconnaissance capabilities of the design. Originally, the Valkyrie (both Mk I and Mk II) employed an Isolinear twin-core design computer system, with 372 Isolinear banks and 106 command preprocessors and data analysis units. This design was quite successful for the use of standard comm traffic control and tactical targeting, but newer sensor package upgrades intended for the Valkyrie were hampered by a core that was already at its limit for processing power. So, with the eagerness of little boys with a new toy to take apart, RD began a computer system redesign from the ground up, which would lead to hull, engine and weapons redesign, and end in an almost completely new Space Superiority attack fighter: the AC-409 Mk III Valkyrie.By the time, Hyperjet Quantite Mk IV reactor cores were being successfully implemented in the experimental Knight-class interceptor. These core types could be sized variably (depending on the design requirements) while still maintaining a very high energy output. A twin-core design was drafted for the new Mk III, and projected numbers suggested the Mk III would see a 25% increase to power output than the Mk I  II series. With this increase in power output, a larger computer core system was designed. Utilizing bio-neural processors and relays, the original frame space needed for the computer systems was reduced, and spread out through the centreline of the craft. Computational capacity and storage was increased by another 30%, and a new tactical link-up library software system was implemented. The system provided a clearer and more accurate battlefield image the pilot, and the integration was so effective that the RIOs were not needed any more - only one pilot required in the cockpit.With this new freedom of space within the spacecraft hull, RD decided a more streamlined hull would benefit the pilot. Their new, sportier look reduced sensor cross-section and improved warp field stability for the twin quantite reactor cores. With the hull redesign came minor changes to weapons load-out: the arrangement of the standard Type-XII pulse phaser cannons and microtorpedo launchers in the Mk II changed only slightly to fit into the new spaceframe. The hard-point system was simplified, and the pulse phaser cell-magazine rack was switched from a vertical feed system to a horizontal feed system – this to combat original design flaws and jams during gravity-inducing combat manoeuvres.Lastly, one more weapon was added: a tetryon pulse phase cannon was installed on the underside of the cockpit within its own hull compartment. This cannon was installed for ground suppression roles, and to give the Valkyrie an added punch in the Space Superiority role. The drawback to the tetryon pulse phase cannon is that it draws a lot of power and given its size, craft manoeuvrability is severely impeded when utilizing the weapon. AC-409 Mk III Valkyrie Federation Attack Fighter by Auctor-Lucan 


These are the space fighters the Lone-Wolves Squadron use in Star Trek: Theurgy. While they were inspired by the old Gryphon-class fighters originally designed by KadenDark (http://galen82.deviantart.com/), the 3D model was a commissioning done by Pinarci on DeviantArt (http://pinarci.deviantart.com/) via his Fiverr account (https://www.fiverr.com/mehmetpinarci). The model and its concept is owned by me, but this project could not have turned out the way it did without Pinarci. Original idea, edits, texts and add-ons to the 3D render of the ships were made by yours truly.Projects like these are a process, and this proved to be a long one with a lot of revisions, but in the end, Pinarci exceeded all expectations and then some. While 3D artists in general might provide excellent overall work, he excel in this specific field. He is *the* 3D shipbuilder out there, and if anyone has need to make spaceships for games or animations, look no further.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 
TACTICAL CONN  THE VALKYRIE PROGRAM
The formation of the Starfleet Aerospace Command is heavily influenced by the successful deployment of Peregrine-class fighters aboard the starships serving as carriers in the fleet, yet the USS Theurgy does not hold a squadron of Peregrine-class fighter aboard, but the more developed Valkyrie-class. Namely, the prototype Mk III version, a superior fighter that make use of recent advances in technology. The year 2375 - after the conclusion of the Dominion War - the AC-409 Mk I Valkyries were deployed. These fighters were assigned to the USS Typhon [TNG game: Star Trek: Invasion]. They were initially designed as a carrier-based fleet engagement craft. Initially, the design proved successful, with a high survivability rate matching the heavy fire power available to bring down larger ships. In learning that a full squadron of Valkyries would still require a lot of support from for engagements of a Dominion-War level threat, Starfleet deemed that the attack fighter needed an upgrade. By 2381, these fighters are still being deployed in fairly limited numbers - shuffled around the fleet. Another development at the time was that a group of influential admirals in the fleet demanded to form a new - evaluational - department that hand-picked the Conn officers with the most tactical training. It was the only way, they reckoned, to ensure that the fleet used the right kind of pilots for these fighters. The original score of 400 personnel -  the fleets new Tactical Conn officers - served as the foundation for a new and more organised department for fighter pilots. They accepted only the highest scoring Conn or fight-trained Security or Tactical Cadets, and then dealt them another year of training in the fields they lacked from their Academy training. White became the chosen colour for the department, and the admirals that rode this project into history became the core of the Aerospace Command.Both the Mk I and II Valkyries used Rear Intercept Officers (RIOs). The efficiency in which the attack fighters were operated were doubled by allowing the pilots to focus solely on the manoeuvres and weapons employment of the craft during a fight, allowing the RIO to handle comm traffic, emergency repairs and tactic simulations. Among the improvements for the Mk II Valkyrie were a new ablative armour compound, improved power plant, and the employment of a hardpoint system beneath the wings. With the Mk II, the Valkyrie truly stepped into a class of her own. At the success of the Mk II and the fleet-wide deployment of the Valkyries in the fleet, Starfleet Command began looking into the Valkyrie with more interest. Initially, they had considered Tactical Conn another spear in Starfleet’s arsenal. So when the project was given new funding, RD went back to the drawing board to see what could be improved on an already formidable weapon.The first step was to increase the command, control and reconnaissance capabilities of the design. Originally, the Valkyrie (both Mk I and Mk II) employed an Isolinear twin-core design computer system, with 372 Isolinear banks and 106 command preprocessors and data analysis units. This design was quite successful for the use of standard comm traffic control and tactical targeting, but newer sensor package upgrades intended for the Valkyrie were hampered by a core that was already at its limit for processing power. So, with the eagerness of little boys with a new toy to take apart, RD began a computer system redesign from the ground up, which would lead to hull, engine and weapons redesign, and end in an almost completely new Space Superiority attack fighter: the AC-409 Mk III Valkyrie.By the time, Hyperjet Quantite Mk IV reactor cores were being successfully implemented in the experimental Knight-class interceptor. These core types could be sized variably (depending on the design requirements) while still maintaining a very high energy output. A twin-core design was drafted for the new Mk III, and projected numbers suggested the Mk III would see a 25% increase to power output than the Mk I  II series. With this increase in power output, a larger computer core system was designed. Utilizing bio-neural processors and relays, the original frame space needed for the computer systems was reduced, and spread out through the centreline of the craft. Computational capacity and storage was increased by another 30%, and a new tactical link-up library software system was implemented. The system provided a clearer and more accurate battlefield image the pilot, and the integration was so effective that the RIOs were not needed any more - only one pilot required in the cockpit.With this new freedom of space within the spacecraft hull, RD decided a more streamlined hull would benefit the pilot. Their new, sportier look reduced sensor cross-section and improved warp field stability for the twin quantite reactor cores. With the hull redesign came minor changes to weapons load-out: the arrangement of the standard Type-XII pulse phaser cannons and microtorpedo launchers in the Mk II changed only slightly to fit into the new spaceframe. The hard-point system was simplified, and the pulse phaser cell-magazine rack was switched from a vertical feed system to a horizontal feed system – this to combat original design flaws and jams during gravity-inducing combat manoeuvres.Lastly, one more weapon was added: a tetryon pulse phase cannon was installed on the underside of the cockpit within its own hull compartment. This cannon was installed for ground suppression roles, and to give the Valkyrie an added punch in the Space Superiority role. The drawback to the tetryon pulse phase cannon is that it draws a lot of power and given its size, craft manoeuvrability is severely impeded when utilizing the weapon. Our con got kicked out of it’s established space  because the hotel kept getting trashed by drunk, rowdy con-goers.  The last year they broke a fucking window, among other things.
Have fun at your cons.  Have fun in your cosplay.  But don’t be an asshole while you’re staying in a hotel.  The shit is not cute, you ruin future cons for everyone.  Part of the reason hotels spike their rates for smaller cons is because they expect con-goers to be disrespectful and destructive.  Pricey rates drive people away from cons without a reputation.  Those tiny cons don’t get a turnout because of hotel prices, they can’t collect revenue, they can’t afford the space, they wither up and die.  No more tiny fun cons. Most of the staff volunteers and works hard to make your experience nice, and the hotels hold them  responsible for the aftermath.
Just don’t be a dick, especially if you’re attending a small convention.  It’s not hard.

FOR ANYONE WONDERING THE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES OF THIS, IT KILLS BIG CONS TOO. Youmacon started putting up their rules for no obstructive masks or face paint due to people needing to be IDENTIFIED AS THEY DESTROYED THE CON CENTER AND SURROUNDING HOTELS. ALA (Anime Los Angeles, a well known, huge, secure con) got moved to Ontario, CA, after 2015’s convention because so many people destroyed the Marriott that they said “fuck it, fuck you, we aren’t hosting this anymore.” It doesn’t just kill small cons, it kills the biggest,  most well known conventions in the country. This is why larger cons, the hotel blocks are hundreds of dollars, nobody gets a discount anymore, nobody gets the “free CONtinental breakfast” that was super common when I started cosplaying in 2010. Because we, as a collective, destroyed these hotels. I’ve paid my fair share of fees due to ruined hotel towels, but I’ve had friends charged with destroyed chairs, tables, etc. etc. that they DIDN’T RUIN because of the fact the hotels have to find SOMEWHERE to get the money to FIX WHAT PEOPLE DID RUIN. Take care of your hotel rooms. Leave tips for the cleaning staff. Bring a big garbage bag to throw your cup noodles in, and bring your own towels if you think your paint/makeup might destroy hotel ones. Don’t throw massive room parties, bring a small pack of wet wipes and wipe down your makeup station every day, don’t be a jerk!!!!!!! Keep Cons Clean and Safe and Secure by not being a massive fucker!!!!!

If you’re staying in the con hotel you have a fucking responsibility to be a good representative of your con. This is why there are age limits on who can book a space.If you can’t behave like an adult, if you can’t trust your LAWL SO RANDOM XD enthusiasm to not result in property damage, then you don’t belong at a con.
