As you know Eurovision is a singing contest similar to the Idols brand but held in Europe. Eurovision is being held in the Ukraine in 2017 and for this reason a "CLEANUP" ie mass killings of homeless creatures have started: In order to keep the streets "clean" for the visitors, thousands of street dogs were brutally killed before the European Football Championship 2012 in Ukraine. In May of this year, the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Kiev - Ukraine. Various animal protection groups in the country have feared that the same strategy could be applied to this event. Already there is evidence that the so-called "Dog Hunters" have begun with the poisoning of dogs. The killing of street animals would not only violate the Ukrainian laws (section 299 of the Criminal Code), but it would also be a violation of the European Convention for the Protection of Domestic Animals, which was signed by the government in 2013. Please sign, share and let's stop this mass killing from occurring. It is our responsibility! Mass email The European Broadcasting Union EBU - they need to clean up their act too. Rio Olympic: BLACKTIVIST GABBY DOUGLAS ON THE CYBERBULLYING SHE FACED DURING THE 2016 RIO OLYMPICS GABBY DOUGLAS ON THE CYBERBULLYING SHE FACED DURING THE 2016 RIO OLYMPICS Finally! Gabby Douglas is speaking out about racism she experienced during 2016 Olympic Games. This past summer, the very talented girl made headlines for more than just her gravity-defying athletic abilities. Gabby Douglas, who is black, was repeatedly bullied online for “disrespecting” America by not putting her hand on her heart. The three-time gold-medal-winning Olympic gymnast was also berated for not smiling enough and even not styling her hair in a certain way. But on 21st of December, the 20-year-old gymnast said Teen Vogue how painful this online harassment really was for her and her family. “I had take off social media before the Olympics. Then after team finals in Rio, I Googled myself and there was just so much noise. First it started with me not having my hand over my heart, then my hair, then me not being supportive. I was like oh my God, I have no idea where this is coming from. It was hard. People thought I was just a target,” she said. “I’m not a target, I’m a human being. I’m an athlete, ” said Gabby Douglas in the interview with Teen Vogue. Today, there are thousands of people of color trying to get through cyberbulling. These people need to know that they are not alone even if they think the world is against them. The bullying was so bad so Gabby Douglas said that she cried every day after practice. But now, the athlete is much stronger. Today, a victim of online trolls Gabby Douglas can give us advice how to be strong, how to stand up for yourself and get through anything. Rio Olympic: Ethiopian Runner Crowned World Athlete of the Year TOYOTA AYANA BELNING 2015 17thsoulia4 @Regrann from @17thsoulja4 - After landing within three seconds of the 5000m world record last year and striking gold in the event at the World Championships, the conventional wisdom was that Ayana might finally eclipse compatriot Tirunesh Dibaba's eight-year-old 14:11.15 world record. She did eventually shatter a world record, but not over the distance everyone expected. Ayana showed strong form early, opening her season with a dominant 3000m victory at the IAAF Diamond League series opener in Doha, winning in 8:23.11 after a 65-second final lap. “It was a very good race for me,” said Ayana, who won by more than three seconds and came up just 0.47 shy of the national record she set last year. “My mind is already on Rio." She also seemed preoccupied with fast times. Sixteen days later, she dominated her first 5000m outing of the season, coming within five seconds of the world record with a 14:16.31 performance in Rabat, at the time the fifth fastest ever. Ten days later she came even closer at Rome's Olympic Stadium where she clocked 14:12.59, the second fastest of all time and just 1.44 seconds shy of Dibaba's record. But it was her next outing, at the Ethiopian 10,000m Olympic Trials race in Hengelo, that caught many off guard, and which signalled her true Rio Olympic intentions. Running in her debut over the distance, Ayana dominated the contest and cruised to a 30:07.00 victory, the eighth fastest performance of all time and the fastest debut in history. Among those she beat was Tirunesh Dibaba, the two-time Olympic champion in the event, who suffered her first career defeat over the distance. Suddenly, Ayana was the woman to beat in two events in Rio. In Rio, Ayana managed to deliver the best possible kick-off to the athletics competition. In the 10,000m final which was held during the morning session of the opening day, she broke away from the pack just after half way and forged on to shatter the world record, clocking 29:17.45. "I never thought that this would happen," said Ayana, whose stunning performance eclipsed the 29:31.78 record set by China's Wang Junxia in 1993, less than two years after Ayana was born. He said: “Ensuring effective nuclear security is important for all countries, including those which possess little or no nuclear or other radioactive material. “Terrorists and criminals will try to exploit any vulnerability in the global nuclear security system. “Any country, in any part of the world, could find itself used as a transit point. With the support of the group, more than 10,000 police officers, border guards and other security specialists have been trained since 2010. The group has given 3,000 nuclear detecting instruments to countries across the globe and helped organise security at the Rio Olympics. Nine countries across the world - China, India, Israel, France, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, the UK and the USA - control more than 15,000 nuclear weapons. Rio Olympic: 20 hrs Can we just take a minute and just celebrate the fact that canada's rio olympics were saved by the women? like seriously the men did absolutely nothing (well except for a very minor few) and the women basically kept our medal count and campaign afloat. seems to me that we should put more funding and opportunities towards the women because its clear they are gonna be putting the most effort anyways.
