Some parents really don’t understand the difference between actual discipline and hurting your kids.

This teaches a kid nothing except needing to hide what makes them happy because they’re scared their parents will destroy it.




Wow…what a terrible parent. Minecraft is A LOT of work, diligence, and creativity. The parent should have been encouraging that. And why does a 9 year old need to wake up every day at 7 am during a pandemic? What’s wrong with this person? 
I can foresee an estranged relationship in the future. Because this parent is out of their minds and more interested in exacting punitive control than being a loving caregiver. 



Y'all wonder why some kids are the way they are? This is it.

also children may require up to TWELVE HOURS of sleep
he’s not being defiant—without the threat of a ridiculous and unnatural hour he MUST be awake at he’s actually following his natural circadian rhythm which is actually HEALTHIER for him
what they’ve done is broken his trust in a MAJOR way. he does not feel safe or in control. which is why he is refusing meals. 
honestly? if they keep this behavior up—let alone just not apologizing and finding the save file for his game—he’s gonna develop some dangerous coping skills like yknow. An eating disorder. Dissociation. Self harm.
I’m not being hyperbolic. this is literally how it starts.

This is the second time this week I’ve seen a story like this (the first being the boyfriend destroying his girlfriend’s AC island over an argument) and it makes me think – how is this ANY different to someone destroying a physical piece of art someone’s made: ripping up their sketchbook, breaking ceramics, cutting up cosplays? If this person had come forward with a question like “my son wouldn’t get out of bed so I broke the birdbox he made” there wouldn’t be ANY question whether this was abusive behaviour.
There’s an inherent disconnect with how we talk about the “value” of virtual items/creations in video games: something about the way that these things aren’t tangible in the conventional sense makes them somehow less valuable than something everyone can hold and observe and appreciate. Think about the amount of “funny gamer rage” videos out there that are people upset over losing WoW saves and the likes: game saves are often things people have put hundreds of hours into, they have value to that person and are representative of their own dedication. Hell, I’m really bummed at the moment over not having access to some of my BL2 saves (I can’t travel to get my PS4 from uni), and I know I’d be upset if I lost them forever. 
Video games are a massive escape mechanism for a lot of people especially right now, and putting time and effort into particularly building games is a constructive and creative outlet that gives people a feeling of accomplishment (and let’s be real it’s a lot more practical than having a house full of lego). Yet there’s still this weird stigma attached to them, this “it’s just a game” mentality that leads people to be easily dismissive of others’ feelings over losing progress. Destroyed your girlfriend’s AC island, which she put hundreds of hours into building? Whatever, it’s just a game. Deleted your kid’s minecraft file, which he spent an entire year working on? Whatever, it’s just a game, why are you so mad? It’s not a real thing, it’s just some numbers hiding behind fancy computer graphics!

Dropping bombs on major cities full of civilians because you thought they had “weapons of mass destruction” (and they didn’t) undermined our goodness too.
Bottom line about Bush and immigration is that post 9/11 immigration policies rarely if ever caught any potential terrorists but it did spike the number of deportations with the creation of ICE.

Not only did Bush create ICE he also sent us to two wars built on false pretenses that have cost us TRILLIONS of dollars AND didn’t kill thousands, it killed MILLIONS of innocent Iraqi’s and other peoples. Trump’s death toll isn’t even close. So far obviously. 
Then he ruined our education system and put even worse economic incentives on it with the no child left behind act. 
He stripped us of several civil liberties that newer generations now take for granted such as privacy with the patriot act. 
The NSA was created to spy on US citizens despite intelligence agencies (which liberals now adore since Trump attacked their “integrity) lying to our faces under oath (which is super illegal) that they weren’t doing so. 
so no…. Bush is trying to make himself feel good by being ant-Trump. He is more than just a war criminal and frankly so far, again, he was much worse. We cannot let historical amnesia take over. He gave Trump all the tools to be an authoritarian monster, tools that Obama, mind you, never disbanded. 

Trump is a piece of shit and again can very well outdo Bush but Bush and his administration  were literally evil and so far have been way worse. The post 9/11 political and economic trauma we have all experienced were his administrations fault. oh yeah also the crash of the economy and the lost livelihoods of MILLIONS of people including my mother who couldn’t find a job for ages was his administrations doing.

i heard ICE also prevents child/human trafficking. Is that true?

Even if it does that’s a smokescreen to distract us from how evil it is. The US military sometimes does “good” by giving aide to famished countries yet often it’s the one creating the famines lol We can have a non militarized agency that deals with human trafficking without ripping children from their families and without being hostile to brown immigrants who are often fleeing extreme violence and penury some caused by the US. Also for those who are concerned about border security…… we had border security before ICE was invented. ICE is not needed at all. Plus the border security BS is overrated since immigrants commit less crimes than non immigrants and if we legalize drugs and regulated them and taxed them gang violence and Mafia like activity that occurs on the border will cease to exist. We are the cause of a lot of this. We create a problem and then make it worse by our militarized non-solutions.  I'm with the others, I am normally pretty brutal
 but I've been there and the last thing you need is
 people ripping into you get help see a doctor get
 someone like a mental health worker to talk to.

 The amount of times I could have been that
 white girl in the horror movie could honestly
 be a movie in itself and it's honestly a waste
 that my entire life isn't constantly recorded on
 film because it would be HILARIOUS

 1. That one time I decided to see what was
 past the old gate in the woods, but when
 got there it had been smashed in half and
 there was a decapitated sheep head with no
 skin just off the trail, so instead I just turned
 around and went home.
 2. That time some friends and I went camping
 and we found a pile of bones wrapped in a
 garbage bag buried under a log, but the adult
 supervisor told us it was nothing, so we just
 put it back and didn't talk about it again.
 3. The time I was getting chased through
 the woods at night and I realized "wait it's
 dark as fuck so I just held still until the guy
 gave up and left.
 . The time this dude said he was in love with
 me and so he was going to cut my head off
 and dump my body in a lake, so l told him
 to grow the hell up, but then he got caught
 stealing girl's underwear a day later andI
 never saw him again
 5. That one time in college where I was
 taking a shortcut on my home at night and a
 car followed me into a dark alley, so I stared
 directly into the driver's side of the window
 and walked towards it to psych them out
 6. The night I was out on a walk and this old
 guy told me he'd locked his keys in his truck
 and that he needed someone my size to crawl
 in through the back window for him, so I told
 him you know that sounds super suspicious
 right and told him where to find a pay phone
 for a tow truck instead
 7. The one time this random guy on the street
 said he was in love with me and so he was
 going to follow me home on my bus, so l
 clapped him on the shoulder and told him that
 if he got that close to my bus then I was going
 to throw him under the wheels, but then this
 really nice homeless man from Nigeria told
 the guy to fuck off and then checked to make
 sure he didn't follow me onboard
 8. That big cat with yellow eyes who I found
 in a well and brought home who used to put
 rotting meat in my closet and wake me up
 by chewing on my face, until I put him back
 outside and never saw him again.
 9. My one cousin who used to come over
 for the summer who kept calling me 'piñata
 and hitting me with sticks, until he went back
 home and was sent to juvie c
 got caught torturing animals
 cause he finally
 10. The time I got lost on the way to a
 meeting and wound up at a circus tent
 instead, and got followed by a full-out clown
 for three vacant street blocks
 11. The pet hamster I had when I was seven
 who would scream all night and eventually es-
 caped by ripping a bar out of its cage and wig-
 gling through the hole. My mom caught it and
 put it back but it lved another year and a half
 until one night the screaming just stopped
 12. The time I was whistling in the woods
 and something started whistling back,
 so I went home
 13. That one night at summer camp where
 a group of girls got together to play 'bloody
 mary in the lavatory and invited me to
 come with them so I said "no thanks" and
 stayed with the camp councillors and
 drank soup instead.
 14. The old abandoned house I just moved
 into with the door that leads into a big
 empty room full of dirt and empty cooking
 pots that I just sort of... locked up forever
 and never gon
 ear
 15. Once when I was at an ihop I saw a
 coffee mug do a full 360° spin with nobody
 touching it, so I said 'that was neat' and
 never ate there again
 16. The time I took a photo of a big old raven
 sitting on the crucifix on top of the old town
 church cause it was the most goth thing l'd
 ever seen, right? But then it swooped down
 towards me, so I apologized immediately for
 being rude, and I felt a little silly for a while
 but the car that hit me on the way home didn't
 even leave a bruise so idk be nice to birds
