Akan tetapi gunung yang berada di Taman Nasional Obo, di negara kepulauan Sao Tome dan Principe, di Afrika ini berbeda dengan image gunung pada umumnya. Di pulau yang mayoritas menggunakan bahasa Portugis ini terdapat sebuah daerah kecil di bagian selatan yang merupakan daerah paling dilindungi karena memiliki banyak satwa dan tumbuhan langka. Yang lebih menarik lagi, di sana terdapat sebuah gunung batu setinggi lebih dari 330 meter dari permukaan laut dengan kecuraman di atas 80 derajat. Yang membuat gunung ini sangat unik karena gunung tersebut sangat 'kurus'. Gunung itu diberi nama Pico Cao Grande atau biasanya disebut Great Dog Peak. Banyak orang menggunakan nama lain untuk menyebut nama gunung ini, ada yang menyebutnya gunung jari manusia yang mengacung ke langit, gunung Black Tower, dan lain sebagainya.
