Dear America, Let me tell you another story..... A story that mainstream media will never tell you..... One of the people seem here was just awarded the Muhammad Ali Sports Illustrated Legacy Award .......One was is forgotten about regularly. One of these Men Made Millions to play a game....One barely makes enough to provide for their family. One of these Men started a movement that in my opinion blatantly disrespected the blood, sweat, and sacrifice of 1.3M Veterans......One puts their very life on the line to save others EVERY DAY! One talks about Unity and Equality, yet a year later has done nothing but divide us.......One shows us what True Love and selflessness for Others actually looks like. One has Millions of followers.......One you will probably never even know their name. One Represents the best our country has to offer.....One has forgotten the only reason he was able to make millions playing a GAME in the first place. One takes advantage of the life they have.....one simply does their job every single day! While the rest of the world focuses on what’s trending-popular no matter how blatantly disrespectful and continues to show that our society is twisted and we embrace-push backwards logic of respect and misguided symbols for our younger generation. I want to take a moment and say thank you to the men and women currently fighting the wildfire tragedies in California......You are what is right and honorable within the country and it's time we start to recognize the best of us instead of the ones that drag us down. Wake up America......REAL HEROES ARE ALL AROUND YOU!! Eisenhower. Eisenhower. Removed from the celebrities and popular cultures of our current society, are the not so celebrated individuals and the brilliant cultures that make the world a better place to live. Nowadays it is not cool to be on time, to care, to have less money, to go out on a limb for others, or to deliver random acts of kindness. It ain't "gangster" if you praise people for being amazing humanitarians that make life worth living, or when your turntup but you aren't drunk. If you study hard and are able to hold a decent conversation you are a geek. You're probably not going to get a Nobel peace prize for volunteering in an African village, administering food and care to orphans, or for marching on government shouting "stop bombing killing citizens!" As we all know the people who move 30,000 troops into Afghanistan are destined for such awards. Selflessness is a route that few people take, often for a short amount of time. But some do for the whole of their lives. When they do it is quite beautiful, here is to the unsung heroes in the world. The nurses, volunteers, philanthropists, recyclers, carers, helpers, donators, lovers and the fighters who aren't scared to stand up for who and what they believe in. The doctors, the spiritual leaders of self love, the well wishers and do gooders, the energy givers, those who don't give to receive but just to give. Those who prioritise the needs of others over their own wants. Those who dedicate their time, and those who dedicate their lives, to helping others and the world. Those who do things for free for people, just because they love people. Even if you will never be hailed a celebrity, never be rich, never have a jay z song dedicated to you. You are cool in my eyes, respect and you have the support of real people, which is better than the following of a materialistic society.
