<p>To give a little more perspective on just how horrific this film was, I need to give people some information:</p>
<p>Since retiring from acting in 2002, Shelley Duvall has lived a reclusive and isolated life. However, in November of 2016, <i><b>USA Today</b></i> reported that she appeared to be suffering from mental illness. And then later that month, to an incredible amount of hype, Shelley appeared on the <i><b>Dr. Phil</b></i> show where she basically looked unrecognisable, seemed delusional and talked about people trying to kill her. The episode basically confirmed there rumours.<br/></p>
<p>You can find videos/clips of the interview on youtube, however I won’t link it because it’s upsetting and disrespectful.</p>
<p>After the interview aired, Vivian Kubrick, daughter of <i><b>The Shining</b></i> director Stanley Kubrick, described the interview as “exploitative entertainment” and “appallingly cruel”. The show then received a lot of backlash (rightly so) and a number of other chat shows started discussing it (again, there’s some videos of these on youtube)</p>
<p>Now, how does this all connect to <b>The Shining, </b>you ask? To quote Wikipedia:</p>
<p>“Jack Nicholson states in the documentary <i><b>Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures</b></i>, that Kubrick was great to work with but that he was “<i>a different director</i>” with Duvall. Because of Kubrick’s methodical nature, principal photography took a <i>year</i> to complete. Kubrick and Duvall <i>argued frequently</i>, although Duvall later said she learned more from working with Kubrick on <i>The Shining</i> than she did on all her earlier films. <p>From my own personal experience of mental illness, being exposed to feelings of fear and distress for prolonged periods of time can cause the brain to learn and expect it. I’m not saying that filming <i>The Shining</i> caused Shelley Duvall to develop mental illness, I am <i><b>stating</b></i> that whether the movie brought out an existing condition, or prepared the bed for something to eventually develop, filming <i>The Shining</i> has a direct correlation with Shelley Duvall suffering from mental illness.</p>
<p>Next time you watch the movie, bare that in mind. It’s much sadder.</p>

<p>Starsio is gifted with a beautiful voice. He worked as a street performer in his home town along with his friend, Melody. Starsio would sing his little heart out all day while Melody acted as the hype girl of the duo, gathering audience, getting the crowd excited and accepting/demanding money from onlookers. Life was hard for the two, but they managed to make ends meet somehow.<br/></p>
<p>Here’s a sketch of Starsio and Melody back in the good ol’ days.</p>

<p>All of this changed though when one day Starsio was kidnapped off of the streets by a bunch of goons!!!!<br/></p>
<p>Starsio was taken to the cabaret/brothel “Paprika”. This establishment is notorious for human trafficking and forced labor, however is protected by the Law Enforcement of Capital City. Starsio was forced to become a singer at Paprika. The boss there had heard of Starsio and his voice and decided he would be the perfect change the establishment needed in order to boost business.</p>
<p>All of this was very hard on poor Starsio. At first he was helpless to do anything, however, not long after he was brought to Paprika, Starsio awakened a mysterious ability. He could suddenly <b>conjure fireflies that would do his bidding! </b>Here’s a WIP of his fire fly magic!</p>

On a rainy night, not very different from the night he was kidnapped, Starsio sets off his escape plan with one last song….<br/></p>
<p><b>Personality</b><br/></p>
<p>Starsio is mild mannered and very polite. He gets irritated by things often but he never loses his temper. He is more of a passive aggressive type. He is also not a leader type of person. Back at home Melody acted as the leader of the two. However, Starsio steps up and assumes leadership when him and Arthur set their escape plan in motion. </p>
<p>He also has an inner diva that comes out from time to time. Here’s a draft skill animation that kinda shows that side of him.</p>

<p>CANDY. Think of the most unhealthy, more artificially colored, suger coated with 20 layers of glazing, stuffed with 10 types of custard, dipped in 15 types of chocolate candy, multiply by infinity, and then serve to Starsio. He LOVES unhealthy candy. Glow in the dark  and fluorescent candy is his favorite. </p>
<p>In fact, candy items have bonus effects on him if used in battle! That’s how much he loves CANDY!!!!</p>

<p>I originally created Starsio when I was about 13-14 years old. He was a character in a story I wrote called “The Legend of the Black Crystals”. In that story, Starsio was Italian and was a mute. This is what he looked like back then! </p>

<p>In fact, candy items have bonus effects on him if used in battle! That’s how much he loves CANDY!!!!</p>

 Attempting to use the Mew Encounter exploit with a Pokemon with a
 special stat of over 250 results in encountering a glitch trainer who
 causes the game to just flip the absolute fuck out when trying to
 calculate how much money to award vou afterwards. This causes the
 relevant memory poiner to shoot off to god knows where, and as a result
 it just sets a solid two hundred unrelated hexadecimal values in the
 game to 99 in the process, filling your party with level 153 Bulbasaur that
 can only use explosion
 i dont understand half of the words here but god if this
 isn't the funniest thing i've ever read

 came out and there was an ENTIRE CITY you couldn't
 save in because it'd DELETE YOUR SAVE? Imagine that
 happening in the days of Red&Blue. It couldn't have. I
 can turn on my red cartridge TODAY and have it work
 And the bugs that did exist, those edge cases they
 missed? They produce this behavior because the game

<p>Starsio is gifted with a beautiful voice. He worked as a street performer in his home town along with his friend, Melody. Starsio would sing his little heart out all day while Melody acted as the hype girl of the duo, gathering audience, getting the crowd excited and accepting/demanding money from onlookers. Life was hard for the two, but they managed to make ends meet somehow.<br/></p>

<p>All of this changed though when one day Starsio was kidnapped off of the streets by a bunch of goons!!!!<br/></p>
<p>Starsio was taken to the cabaret/brothel “Paprika”. This establishment is notorious for human trafficking and forced labor, however is protected by the Law Enforcement of Capital City. Starsio was forced to become a singer at Paprika. The boss there had heard of Starsio and his voice and decided he would be the perfect change the establishment needed in order to boost business.</p>
<p>All of this was very hard on poor Starsio. At first he was helpless to do anything, however, not long after he was brought to Paprika, Starsio awakened a mysterious ability. He could suddenly <b>conjure fireflies that would do his bidding! </b>Here’s a WIP of his fire fly magic!</p>

<p>He also has an inner diva that comes out from time to time. Here’s a draft skill animation that kinda shows that side of him.</p>

He LOVES unhealthy candy. Glow in the dark  and fluorescent candy is his favorite. </p>
<p>In fact, candy items have bonus effects on him if used in battle! That’s how much he loves CANDY!!!!</p>

 my goodness look at the amount of
 detail on this one. the colors, the
 shading, everything is just spot on. you
 can almost make out the individual
 feathers. truly a marvelous mallard

 i see they went with one of those brown
 varieties of duck. while this is a bold
 move on their part, i feel as though it
 loses a bit of its personality. i'm just not
 really feeling this bird. 7/10

 this looks like a modern colorization of
 the famous duck from the hieroglyphs. i
 am absolutely in awe of their dedication
 to the medium and commentary on the

<p>Starsio is gifted with a beautiful voice. He worked as a street performer in his home town along with his friend, Melody. Starsio would sing his little heart out all day while Melody acted as the hype girl of the duo, gathering audience, getting the crowd excited and accepting/demanding money from onlookers. Life was hard for the two, but they managed to make ends meet somehow.<br/></p>
<p>Here’s a sketch of Starsio and Melody back in the good ol’ days.</p>

<p>All of this changed though when one day Starsio was kidnapped off of the streets by a bunch of goons!!!!<br/></p>
<p>Starsio was taken to the cabaret/brothel “Paprika”. This establishment is notorious for human trafficking and forced labor, however is protected by the Law Enforcement of Capital City. Starsio was forced to become a singer at Paprika. The boss there had heard of Starsio and his voice and decided he would be the perfect change the establishment needed in order to boost business.</p>
<p>All of this was very hard on poor Starsio. At first he was helpless to do anything, however, not long after he was brought to Paprika, Starsio awakened a mysterious ability. He could suddenly <b>conjure fireflies that would do his bidding! </b>Here’s a WIP of his fire fly magic!</p>

<p>Starsio is mild mannered and very polite. He gets irritated by things often but he never loses his temper. He is more of a passive aggressive type. He is also not a leader type of person. Back at home Melody acted as the leader of the two. However, Starsio steps up and assumes leadership when him and Arthur set their escape plan in motion. </p>
<p>He also has an inner diva that comes out from time to time. Here’s a draft skill animation that kinda shows that side of him.</p>

He LOVES unhealthy candy. Glow in the dark  and fluorescent candy is his favorite. </p>
<p>In fact, candy items have bonus effects on him if used in battle! That’s how much he loves CANDY!!!!</p>

<p>And I can kind of get it, I suppose: the Great American Vacation used to be driving across America and visiting national parks and camping in the great outdoors. But if you’re poor and live in the inner city and travel by public transit, that’s not as much of an option for you.</p>
<p>Of course, this also shows how shallow and flawed the idea of some sort of “universal black experience” is.  The experience of a black person growing up in Brooklyn is going to be different from the experience of a black person growing up in rural South Carolina, which in turn will be different from yours, which will in turn be different from that of a San bushman.<br/></p>

<p>Starsio is gifted with a beautiful voice. He worked as a street performer in his home town along with his friend, Melody. Starsio would sing his little heart out all day while Melody acted as the hype girl of the duo, gathering audience, getting the crowd excited and accepting/demanding money from onlookers. Life was hard for the two, but they managed to make ends meet somehow.<br/></p>
<p>Here’s a sketch of Starsio and Melody back in the good ol’ days.</p>

<p>All of this changed though when one day Starsio was kidnapped off of the streets by a bunch of goons!!!!<br/></p>
<p>Starsio was taken to the cabaret/brothel “Paprika”. This establishment is notorious for human trafficking and forced labor, however is protected by the Law Enforcement of Capital City. Starsio was forced to become a singer at Paprika. The boss there had heard of Starsio and his voice and decided he would be the perfect change the establishment needed in order to boost business.</p>
<p>All of this was very hard on poor Starsio. At first he was helpless to do anything, however, not long after he was brought to Paprika, Starsio awakened a mysterious ability. He could suddenly <b>conjure fireflies that would do his bidding! </b>Here’s a WIP of his fire fly magic!</p>

<p><b>Personality</b><br/></p>
<p>Starsio is mild mannered and very polite. He gets irritated by things often but he never loses his temper. He is more of a passive aggressive type. He is also not a leader type of person. Back at home Melody acted as the leader of the two. However, Starsio steps up and assumes leadership when him and Arthur set their escape plan in motion. </p>
<p>He also has an inner diva that comes out from time to time. Here’s a draft skill animation that kinda shows that side of him.</p>

Think of the most unhealthy, more artificially colored, suger coated with 20 layers of glazing, stuffed with 10 types of custard, dipped in 15 types of chocolate candy, multiply by infinity, and then serve to Starsio. He LOVES unhealthy candy. Glow in the dark  and fluorescent candy is his favorite. </p>
<p>In fact, candy items have bonus effects on him if used in battle! That’s how much he loves CANDY!!!!</p>

I’m not going to call you a racist for noticing it, if that’s what you’re afraid of. We both know the differences are clear and pronounced, the difference between you and me is that you pretend not to notice them for some reason.</p><p>I just don’t see why you’re getting so upset over this, I asked an open question if anyone could see a difference between two sets of people and you called me a “racist cunt” and “stupid racist horrible bastard.”</p></blockquote>
