The real problem stems from a long line of narcissism and a huge lack of consideration for anyone other than one’s self. 👇Here are TWO Golden Rules we should all consider when striving to be a decent human being: ✔️Treat others the way you would like to be treated. This one seems to be especially concerning because I feel like I hear it so often. People will be venting about friend drama and mention all of the ways that they have been wounded, and yet, I can't help but notice that often times the person wounded fails to recognize that their own behavior can be just as wounding and upsetting as the person they are venting about. This rule is simple enough, if you wouldn't want somebody to treat, talk about or speak to you in a specific way, the you should make damn sure that you follow your own rules. ✔️Recognize that time is limited. In other words, let us not take people for granted. We are all so quick to assume that we will have certain people in our lives forever but the truth is that we never really know for sure what tomorrow will bring.If somebody is important to you, show them. If you value a person's place in your life your actions will show it and you will exercise great consideration, dedication and loyalty towards them. - It's not hard to be a decent and considerate person and yet it's not something we see people practicing regularly. Though I've been disappointed by so many people, I've finally come to terms with the fact that as a society and especially millennials just don't value loyalty and compassion and consideration like we used to. Of course if you down a bottle of wine at night you’ll feel it the next day, but, also, if you go to bed at night imagining tomorrow being your most amazing day, well, then, it more likely will be. So, just imagine that. For a few moments before you go to sleep, imagine you waking up, and using your day exactly how you like. ✔️Bounce out of bed, get moving. We’ve all had too many days where we laid in bed wishing we could keep hitting snooze, but imagine how amazing it will be to wake up and bounce out of bed. If you’re serious about focusing on what matters, bounce out of bed like a person intent on doing it. ✔️Get in touch with “Why.” Everyone talks about the power of why, because, well, it’s extremely powerful. Starting in the am, and during the day you want to constantly remind yourself of what you’re doing and why this matters to you. ✔️Set clear goals. The year 2018 is here, and if you’re a goal-setter, you’ve probably already set your New Year’s resolutions (or have at least thought about them.) - Here are a few steps toward achieving our goals for 2018!: ✔️Get clear on what you want. The first step in achieving our New Year’s goals is to become crystal clear on precisely what we want. Close your eyes for a moment, and visualize the life you desire: Who and what are in this image? How do you look in this new picture? More important, how do you feel when you see this life in front of you? What do you ultimately want to feel? With your eyes closed, experience that feeling. ✔️Love yourself! Reaching our goals doesn’t happen by beating ourselves up, or judging and criticizing ourselves. Transformation comes from the love, compassion, kindness and patience we offer ourselves. Just like a child doesn’t thrive or learn from hostility, neither do we. We learn and grow from patience and support. So, be kind and gentle with yourself as you progress toward your goals. When you slip up, tell yourself, “I’ll do better tomorrow.” We don’t have to be perfect to start loving ourselves; we deserve love just as we are now. ✔️Self-Awareness. If we are unaware of our thoughts, feelings, belief systems, likes, dislikes and fears, then we are missing a key element to initiating change in our lives.
